In order to remove some of the 'mystery' involved in booking a band, we have compiled a brief list of frequently asked questions to help you in your decision.

If there is anything you feel we may have missed, please let us know and we'll gladly reply to your enquiry.

"What are the band's requirements?"

A stage is not essential but a suitable minimum space of approximately 14' x 10' is needed to allow us adequate room to set-up our equipment. The area would also need an adjacent 240v domestic power supply - a double socket either side is usually sufficient. Our contract states that we require a changing room large enough for five people to relax in comfort and a hot meal for each band member is to be provided in order for the band to give the best performance.

"What else do you provide?"

The band provide a PA system, full stage and dance-floor lighting. We have a variety of party and dinner music that we can play from MP3 through our sound system during the periods where we are not performing - thereby eliminating the need for (and cost of) a separate disco. We can also easily play your ipod through our PA if you have your own playlist.

"Can you play the first dance at our wedding reception?"   We are happy to download and play your first dance song choice on our ipod for you if you can't find something suitable on our song list. If you want us to play a song live that doesn't appear on our song list please let us know and we can discuss if it's feasible.

"How much will it cost?"

This depends very much on the individual circumstances of your event. We consider the location, duration and timing of the performance and will happily provide you with a quote on request.

"Can I come and see you?"

You will appreciate that the nature of our engagements, on the whole, is private functions and, as such, this would be inappropriate. However, we have produced our videos to be an honest reflection of the bands performance at a function. In many ways this gives a potential client more of an idea of what to expect than seeing a band play in an informal bar situation.

"How long do you play?"

Usually 1½ to 2 hours. Most people ask for two 'sets' of between 45 and 60 minutes each. This could alternatively be spread out over three 40 minute sets - we have even been known to do two hours straight through! Ultimately, the choice is yours, but two 1 hour sets with a 30 minute break is the norm.

"How far will you travel?"

This largely depends on your budget. We are based around NW London and play predominantly around London and the Home Counties. However, we would consider most places in the UK, although traveling expenses and any accommodation may have to be reflected in the fee.

"Do you have certification i.e.. PLI and PAT?"   Grand Central have full PLI cover and all our electrical equipment is annually PAT tested. Certificates can be supplied if required.
